What is Chiropractic

  • Chiropractic

is from the ancient Greek cheiros (hand) + praktikos = done by hand

  • Chiropractic

is the third largest primary health care profession in the western world after medicine and dentistry. There are 60,000 chiropractors worldwide and about 3,500 in the UK. The profession is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council.

  • Chiropractors

are concerned with the framework of bones and muscles that support the body (the ‘musculoskeletal system’). Some problems of the musculoskeletal system can be caused by accidents, stress, lack of exercise, poor posture, illness and everyday wear and tear. These problems may cause strains on the joints and muscles in the body.

  • Poor Function

One area of poor function can affect the way you use your whole body, placing more strain on related joints and muscles. Chiropractic can get to the root cause of your problem and locate the area of poor function.

  • Chiropractors

use adjustments to apply a specific manual force to correct and help restore the normal function of the spine and nervous system. Chiropractors also use various other skilled techniques to suit each individual patient and their unique condition.

How does the treatment work?

Chiropractic gets to the root cause of your problem within the joints and muscles.
Chiropractors use the various skilled techniques to correct and help restore the normal function of your nervous system by adjusting relevant joints.
By relieving pain, discomfort and increasing joint mobility, it enables your body its own recovery process.
